It's the thought that counts. Except when it's not.
I got a Mothers’ ring for Christmas. Oddly, the MIL bought it for me, then made my husband pay her back because she thought it weird that she was buying me a mothers’ ring for Christmas. In case you’re wondering, I thought it weird too. Anyway, it really is a lovely ring and I am thankful. I would have been slightly more thankful had my husband and/or children actually had the thought to buy it for me, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. So, if you have a mom, or a wife who is the mother to your children, and you are looking for mothers rings all I’m going to say is it’s probably best not to have your mother pick it out and buy it and then get strong armed into paying for it. And if that does happen, then don’t tell your wife about it. Because it’s awkward. Just sayin.
